An Injury to One is an Injury to All

CEO Lori James-Nielsen and HR Director Kelley Frengle,

684 people have signed a petition on Action Network telling you to An Injury to One is an Injury to All.

Here is the petition they signed:

Dear Kelley Frengle and Lori James-Nielsen,

Employees of OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center (formerly Tuality Health Care) are exercising their legal right to form a union and bargaining collectively. Unfortunately, some staff members are being dissuaded from joining the union and being told, in one on one conversations with their manager, that if they don’t like their working conditions (as evidenced by their union activity) they “should quit their job,” that the union will “not let you have your vacation time approved except by seniority,” that voting for the union would be “a big mistake,” that if the workers at OHSU Hillsboro have a union they will will lose hours and money, that the manager will tell them what documents are good for them to sign and not sign, and that she will “post their position”.

This is illegal intimidation and we will not stand by silently while hard working staff in EVS, Food and Nutrition, and other departments are subject to such treatment. An injury to one is an injury to all.

Be advised, OHSU Hillsboro United, AFSCME Council 75 will be filing charges of Unfair Labor Practice violations with the Employment Relations Board for any and all misconduct on the part of OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center.
Until those charges are resolved, we expect all staff, regardless of their union status or representation, to be treated fairly, honestly, and with full compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.

Respectfully, the undersigned employees of Oregon Health and Sciences University, OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center and our community allies
